To be able to wheel 32s u'll need to remove the factory flares and cut along the body spot welds uaprox 12-18" from bottom. Cut flares to match and reinstall. other option is to remove flares and
I upgraded to 32.5" tires on stock 20" rims. The full size spare is 30" on a steel 18" rim. I know in many sedans and light trucks, a donut is used for a spare unless you have the tow package. So I know smaller tires are often used as spares. My question is whether I can use the 30" spare if necessary for right now.

The backspacing on WJ 16-inch wheels is 6", factory tire size 245/70/16. I don't really know what the backspacing is on factory Wrangler wheels but maybe it's 6.25"? With the same width tires (245 mm), this means you will be pushing your tires .25-inch closer to the shocks, where the minimum inboard clearance point is.

It's a 31.6" tire. Most inch-sized tires run about 1/2" under (ie: 31x10.5x15 is only 30.5" tall). So yes, it's a 32 and yes, people rub it at 4" lift. You can sort of run 265/70-16 (that's 30.6") at stock height but only if you pick a mild highway tread. If you pick an aggressive tread pattern it will rub for sure.
